Ugandan man wins eating competition after ‘stuffing’ himself

A Ugandan man might have set a new record after he emerged as a winner of a food competition in Uganda recently

Middle-aged Juma Kabigi reportedly won 10,000 Ugandan shillings (US$3) for emerging as champion at a Ugandan food competition which saw him eating piles of food including three loaves of bread, eight chapatis, 10 eggs, two raw cabbages, four apples and two bundles of raw green vegetables among other things, reports Thisisafrica .

The Daily Monitor tweeted about the anomalous incident and a number of people have shared their sentiments of the competition on the social networks, where some blamed poverty for pushing Kabingi to participate in the competition.

Kabingi winning the food competition has evoked different emotions on the social media with some expressing their shock, others their disappointments whilst others laughed it off. However some seemed excited and thrilled to hear about such an extra ordinary incident. Here are some of the comments from Facebook:

Immanuel Aimeoshor Nwali Ikechukwu: “Food even cheap there gan. If the price in question is that much to him, that means it can do alot for him. maybe 20kobo per apple. me heading there soon.”

Okpala Tessy: “Congrats Mr. Juma Kagibi. He has become a Champion, and to me that’s the essence of that Competition. The money tag was a Motivation, and on their Land it justified the RISK.”

Timi Bogo: “Christopher Ade Hmmm poverty is indeed a sin”

David Bassey: “Pure madness!”

Michael Emeka Ndubuisi: “@mfonobong Abel Ekene, that guy only ate vegetables pls notify me anywhere they are holding such competition in Nigeria and I’ll introduce one guy named JOHN from Agegunle to them and see if they will not enlist his name in Guinness book of records.”

Do you believe that it should be listed in the Guinness World Records? Did he deserve to get more money for this?
