Controversial ‘snake feeding’ prophet arrested

A controversial Pretoria preacher referred to as a prophet who allegedly ordered his followers to
consume live snakes telling them it would taste like chocolate has been arrested‚ police confirmed on Sunday.

Ga-Rankuwa police spokesperson Captain Rheineth Motlana said Prophet Penuel Mnguni of End Times Disciples Ministries would probably appear in the Ga-Rankuwa Magistrate’s Court on Monday on charges of cruelty to animals.

The charges were laid by the Tshwane SPCA‚ Capt Motlana said.

Members of Prophet Penuel's End Times Disciples Ministries in Soshanguve, Pretoria ate parts of a snake, believing it would become chocolate.
Images posted onto the church's social media sites show Penuel dangling a live snake and dropping it into the mouths of his congregants.

"Man of God declared a snake to become a chocolate (chomp) and the congregation ate it. We have authority to change everything into anything and it will obey because of our authority," read a post on the church's Facebook page.
The controversial Penuel previously commanded his church to drink petrol and eat cloths.
