Court stops PDP on Amaechi •Jang leads 14 govs to Jonathan

A high court in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, has stopped the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) from taking further actions against the state governor, Rotimi Amaechi, pending the hearing of a substantive suit challenging his suspension from the party.

Justice Emmanuel Ogbuji handed down the order following a preliminary application brought before the court by Governor Amaechi’s lawyers, led by Akin Olujimi (SAN).

Okorocha Administration And The Zenith Bank Loan Scandal


Not too long ago, the Association of Local Government of Nigeria (ALGON) wrote a petition to the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) accusing Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State and his team of taking an unauthorized loan that runs into many billions of naira from Zenith Bank using the monthly allocations for the 27 local government councils in the state as collateral for the loan.

Consequently, the Imo State Commissioner for Finance, Deacon Chike Okafor and the Accountant General of the state, Mr. George Eche were arrested and detained by the EFCC in relation of the accusation.

Judgement reserved on child sex case

The Constitutional Court reserved judgment on Thursday on whether it was unconstitutional to criminalise consensual sex between children between the ages of 12 and 16.This meant the judges would consider arguments submitted to them by the applicants -- the Teddy Bear Clinic for Abused Children, and Resources Aimed at the Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect (Rapcan).

The respondents are the minister of justice and the National Director of Public Prosecutions (NDPP).

Nigeria's House of Representatives Pass Law On 14-Year Imprisonment For Same-Sex Marriage

The House of Representatives on Thursday passed a bill forbidding same-sex marriage in Nigeria and imposed a 10 to 14 year jail term for anybody who violates the law. channelstv reports.

The lawmakers in a unanimous voice vote, approved the “bill for an Act to prohibit marriage or civil union entered between persons of same sex, solemnization of same and for other matters related there with.” The bill specifically prohibits the solemnization of marriage or civil union between persons of same gender in any place of worship either church or mosque or in any place in Nigeria.

MAN EMPLOYED TO PREGNANT TEENAGE GIRLS

A 23-year old young man simply known as Oyibo was recruited or employed by a woman simply identified as “madam one thousand” owner of the Ahamefula motherless Babies Home at Umuaka in Njaba LGA of Imo State where more than seventeen teenage girls were rescued by the police with their pregnancies, and the 23-year old boy simply known Master Oyibo was responsible for all the pregnancies. Woman sues hubby over denial of sex ration

A 35-year old woman, Maryam Mohammed, on Monday sued her husband, Adamu Mohammed, before an Area Court in Lugbe, Abuja for allegedly spending more nights with his second wife.

The Plaintiff, who lives in Sabon-Lugbe on Airport Road, accused her husband, also of the same address, of neglect, selfishness and starving her of sex and food.
