Nigeria: Rotimi Amaechi's Countrified Gift to Pastors

Gov. Chibuke Amaechi

Governor Rotimi Amaechi drew the first blood when he alleged that the PDP gave out N6 billion to some pastors to mount campaigns against the Presidential Candidate of the APC, Muhammadu Buhari. I was nonplussed when Amaechi could not substantiate his allegation. He could not even point to a specific pastor, where the bribe was collected and how much was given. Now, governor Rivers is in trouble. The news in town is that he was the one that offered bribe to pastors.

The Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria in Cross River State early this week looked at Amaechi straight in the face and accused him of giving money to 500 pastors in October last year to get their support for the APC.
The Chairman of the Cross River PFN in, Bishop Emmah Isong said he was ready to confront Amaechi if he denied it. "Amaechi lacks the moral authority to accuse anyone of giving pastors money to campaign against the political interest of the APC," declared Isong. Amaechi, over to you. We hope to hear from you on this allegation. We want the truth and nothing but the truth.
