LG polls: Imo plans to dupe aspirants –PDP

•As court stops elections

The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, yesterday accused the All Progressive Grand Alliance, APGA-led government in Imo State of perfecting plans to dupe aspirants in the local government elections scheduled for April.

This is as the Federal High Court sitting in Owerri yesterday granted PDP relief for a stay of execution for the proposed council elections.

Homicidal Rev King Must Die says Appeal Court

The Court of Appeal sitting in Lagos on Friday confirmed the death sentence slammed on Chukwuemeka Ezeugo for killing a member of his church over six years ago.
Ezeug, otherwise known as Rev. King had asked the court to set aside the verdict of a Lagos High Court, Ikeja, which convicted him of killing Ann Uzoh, a member of the Christian Praying Assembly in July 2006.
He was accused of pouring petrol on Uzoh and setting her on fire.
Ezeugo, who was first arraigned in September 2006 was convicted and sentenced to death in January 11, 2007 by Justice Joseph Olubunmi Oyewole.
