The seeming taciturn approach of Governor Rochas Okorocha towards complying with the Court of Appeal judgment which returned HRH Eze (Dr) Cletus Ilomuanya as Chairman of Imo State Council of Traditional Rulers, may have drawn the anger of traditional rulers from the South East Zone with the Monarchs warning that they will not only storm Owerri, the Imo State Capital in large numbers should anything untoward happen to Eze Ilomuanya but will also invoke the wrath of their ancestors on Ilomuanya’s perceived aggressors.

Okorocha Administration And The Zenith Bank Loan Scandal


Not too long ago, the Association of Local Government of Nigeria (ALGON) wrote a petition to the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) accusing Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State and his team of taking an unauthorized loan that runs into many billions of naira from Zenith Bank using the monthly allocations for the 27 local government councils in the state as collateral for the loan.

Consequently, the Imo State Commissioner for Finance, Deacon Chike Okafor and the Accountant General of the state, Mr. George Eche were arrested and detained by the EFCC in relation of the accusation.

Group Asks Imo Assembly to Impeach Okorocha for Abuse of Office


With the alleged bribery scandal rocking the Imo State Government, which has led to the impeachment moves against the state Deputy Governor, Mr. Jude Agbaso, a group noted for its activism for good governance, Save Imo, has petitioned the Speaker of the Imo State House of Assembly to immediately commence impeachment moves against the state Governor, Chief Rochas Okorocha, for abuse of office.
