'Red Nose Day' campaign focuses on raising money for children and young-adults who are living in poverty
After Game of Thrones star Peter Dinklage showed off his singing skills for today's Red Nose Day, Microsoft's Bill Gates and investment maestro Warren Buffet put on fake 'Red Noses' to support the fundraising drive.
'Red Nose Day' campaign focuses on raising money for children and young-adults who are living in poverty. People can donate or raise money by participating and doing fun things with the 'Red Nose Day' kit available on their website.
It was celebrated in United Kingdom on March 15 and it raised £1, 047,083,706 for underprivileged kids. People like scientist Stephen Hawking, actor Rowen Atkinson, comedian Russell Brand took part for a TV variety show created to raise this money.
In the US leg of this fundraising drive, a three hour show will be broadcast on NBC. British band Coldplay, cast members of Game of Thrones, actress Anna Kendrick, singer Ed Sheeran, and muppet Kermit the Frog will perform on this three hour long show.
To contribute to the fundraiser, Gates Foundation will donate $25 for every tweet which will have a 'Red Nose' selfie of the user with hashtag #RedNose25.
