Deputy governor faces impeachment,
APGA accuses PDP of plot to distort the activities of the IMHA.

The Imo State House of Assembly has commenced impeachment process, against the State Deputy Governor, Chief Jude Agbaso for alleged gross misconduct.

This followed the adoption of the recommendations of the six-man Ad Hoc Committee that investigated the alleged four hundred and fifty eight million naira contract scam involving the Deputy Governor.

The contractor handling Sam Mbakwe-Aba road in Owerri had alleged that he could not complete his job due to the huge gratification collected from him by the
Deputy Governor.
In a reaction, a source close to Agbaso, after several attempts to reach him, allegedly accused the State Governor, Chief Rochas Okorocha, of being the mastermind of the impeachment.

In a related development, the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) Imo State chapter has alleged that it had uncovered a plot by the Presidency and the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) to distort the activities of the Assembly, in order to cause disaffection in the ranks of the State Government.

In a statement signed by the state Chairman of APGA, Mr. Marshal Okafor-Anyanwu, said the ill-conceived move was not unconnected to the ongoing investigation by the Assembly over allegation of financial gratification leveled against the Deputy Governor. Source: 2.radionigeria.gov
