Madumere sworn in as Imo State Deputy Governor


Prince Eze Madumere MFR, the immediate past Chief of Staff to Imo State Governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha OON was around 10:45 am today, March 30, 2013, sworn in as the 6th Deputy Governor of Imo State by the Chief Justice of Imo State, Justice Benjamin Njemanze.

Agbaso contests impeachment at Appeal Court

Sir Jude Agbaso, who was removed as deputy governor of Imo State through impeachment by the state House of Assembly on Thursday, has vowed to explore all legal avenues to contest what he described as, ‘unlawful’ and induced impeachment by the state House of Assembly. Agbaso, noted that Governor Rochas Okorocha had set out from the beginning to ensure that he was removed from the office of the deputy governor, adding that nothing could have made the House, which he said was induced by the Executive to exonerate him, even though his innocence was established.

PRESSURE ON LAWMAKERS TO REMOVE GOV. OKOROCHA

OkorochaA NEW wave of impeachment saga now sweeps through Imo State, following a new demand on the lawmakers to impeach Governor Rochas Okorocha.

Coordinator of Save Imo, Nze Ebubagu Ekenulo, Saturday submitted a letter to the House of Assembly asking the 27-member Assembly to commence impeachment process against the governor for gross abuse of office.



This follows Saturday’s inauguration, in Owerri, of a seven-man panel, recently set up to investigate allegations of “gross misconduct and bribery scandal” against the Imo State Deputy Governor, Mr. Jude Agbaso.
