Boy, 18, goes wild for
An 18-year-old man, Happy Eforpor of Edere-Aviara in Isoko South Local Government Area of Delta State has reportedly gone wild, allegedly pulling a locally made pistol following the refusal of his love advances by one Fejiro Independence.
Eforpor, suspected to be a cultist, had, in company with his friend, one Samson Dick, approached Miss Independence for friendship but the damsel was said to have turned down his request.
Not happy with the girl’s response, Eforpor, in a bid to force his object of admiration into the relationship allegedly engaged her in hot exchange of words, which attracted the parents of the girl.
The appearance of the girl’s parents did not deter the lover boy, who allegedly pulled out the locally made pistol and threatened to shoot them. But for the intervention of a surveillance team attached to the Oleh Division of the Delta State Police Command following a distressed call, the story would have been tragic.
Spokesperson of the command, DSP Celestina Kalu, said her men succeeded in arresting Eforpor and one Oghenemaro Onowo, who allegedly aided the escape of Eforpor’s accomplice, Samson Dick. Kalu said the locally made pistol and one expended cartridge were recovered, adding that investigation was “ongoing while efforts were on to apprehend the fleeing suspect.”
She also confirmed the arrest of a suspected motorcycle thief; one Eloke Adoh allegedly attempted to sell the motorcycle at Agbor in Ika South council area.
She said the owner of the unregistered motorcycle, one Stephen Nwanmezsi of Issele-Azagba, Aniocha North council area, had reported at the police station, Okpanam that his motorcycle was stolen at Okpanam town.
Kalu said investigation was in progress, adding that the suspect would soon appear “in court while efforts were on to arrest his accomplice currently at large.”
