MAN CAGED AT RELIEF MARKET FOR STEALING FOWL

The popular axiom that “everyday na for thief, but one day na for owner of the House, manifested in Owerri, the Imo state capital when a suspected thief was caught stealing chicken from a cage in Relief market, Owerri.
Relief Market, is a poplar market in Owerri Municipality where the
stock in-trade of traders is food stuffs and other household items especially livestocks.

  According to imotrumpeta report, "an Eye witness account disclosed that the suspect has been a habitual chicken thief who tormented dealers in Relief Market. It was learnt that he was in the habitat of stealing fowl from the cages of the dealers until luck ran out him".

After several loses by the traders, the victims adapted a fresh strategy to unmask the perpetrator and it paid off when the suspect was nabbed.
The suspect who at the time of this report pleaded anonymity narrated his ordeal. In his confession, he stated that this was not his first outing as he had been into the business of “chicken thiefry” for quite awhile but was unfortunate last week.

He said that when a vehicle loaded with chickens arrive the busy market, he would as usual pretend to be an owner of one of the cages, but while every one who really own a cage were busy identifying their own he would hurriedly pick one and sell them at give a way prices.

He further narrated that haven successfully delivered the first operation and embarked on numerous missions until he meet his water-loo last week, as one who was closely observing his cage saw him dragging it away and noticed that he started selling it immediately but when he was confronted he took to his heels only to be apprehended and beaten mercilessly by angry traders. But through the intervention of some kind hearted Nigerians, jungle justice was not unleashed on him but rather he was punished, then striped and put inside a chicken-cage in the market under the scorching sun.

At the time of filing this report it was not known if the thief was handed over to the police or was set free due to the long hour’s he spent in the cage under the sun.source: imotrumpeta
