Resign now or impeach Owelle, PDP orders Uwajumogu … No, speaker has our mandate confidence – lawmakers

In view of the continued battle on the suspected unconstitutional defection of Imo Speaker Rt. Hon. Benjamin Uwajumogu from Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), with some other principle officers the leadership of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has issued Uwajumogu a ultimatum though optional in order to legitimately remain in the state Assembly even as ordinary lawmaker.
RedParrot reliably gathered that the PDP leaders after their extensive meeting last on review of the consequences as well as merits and demerits associated
with the circumstance thereby vowed to ouster the speaker if he refused to impeach the governor Owelle Rochas Okorocha.
According to the source, the removal of the governor from office would be the only saving grace for the speaker and available option; otherwise both the court and INEC would be allowed to proceed with the matter until it gets to its logical conclusion.
It was reported that PDP has copies of the document where Mr. Speaker signed memorandum of understanding as member of APGA to enable him occupy the office of Mr. Speaker prior to the inauguration of the fifth House and third Assembly.
Meanwhile, there were underground calculations that may throw back PDP and Ohakim into power if Uwajumogu accepts the condition.
However, unconfirmed sources said that Ohakim would be pairing with Hon Oyibo Nwaneri from Oru East local government area as running mate, hence Okorocha would not be legible to contest since he would be allegedly losing by impeachment and before then APGA may not have the force to coherently substitute the ousted governor.
Meanwhile, there was significant tension among lawmakers of Imo State House of Assembly over uncertainty trailing the condition of Hon. Benjamin Uwajumogu as Speaker of Imo state House of Assembly.
Unconfirmed sources said that Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has allegedly commenced processes of declaring the seat of the speaker and member representing Ihitte Uboma state constituency vacant.
Others to be affected by the INEC process include the House majority leader Hon. Adaku Ihuoma member representing Ahiazu state constituency and their Okigwe counterpart Hon Acho Ihim.
The presumed action was sequel to the alleged defection of the lawmakers from Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to All Progressives Party Alliance (APGA) which opposition declared to be unconstitutional.
The situation at the Assembly became too fierce and apprehensive when member representing Oru East state constituency Hon. Greg Okemili moved a motion of urgent important calling for passage of implicit confidence on the speaker.
Though contributors on the motion including Honorable Emeka Nwofor for Ngor Okpala, Victor Ndunagu for Mbaitoli, Acho Ihim for Okigwe and Luke Chukwu for Ohaji/Egbema but PDP members who however supported the motion expressed shock and doubt over the motion describing it as uncalled for.
The lawmakers said that the motion has further created anxiety and suspicion on the house as if it was not all well.
They however, supported the motion and commended the leadership virtues of the Speaker, adding that he has given the Assembly purposeful leadership that has helped the government deliver dividends of democracy. IMO PDP WANTS SPEARKER SACKED. Source: theredparrotonline.com
